Özet

Individualized education model describes an education model inwhich students receive education individually with respect to theirpersonality traits and various characteristics. In this model, educationalprogramme must be constructed according to the needs of the family, theindividual and the teacher, and all the preparations for the classes mustbe designated based on the individual’s cognitive, sensitive andkinesthetic aspects. The purpose of this education model is to provide allstudents with an education opportunity that could make themsuccessful, raise their awareness, boost their motivation and help themreach their goals. The objective of this study is to determine the opinionsof classroom teachers working in primary schools on individualizededucation. The working group of the study is composed by 187 classroomteachers working in schools within the city center associated to HatayProvincial Directorate for National Education. The research is aneducational study conducted with descriptive survey model. It was foundthrough the results of this study that individualized education expressespersonal education, planned teaching, personal study, rapid education,planned study by the student, personalization of education andindividual responsibility. It was also found that among the benefits ofindividualized education there exists improvement of feeling ofresponsibility, making faster learning possible, supporting researchingabilities, increasing readiness level, and rising academic success for thestudent. Furthermore, it was observed that in individualized education;teachers were the managers in the classroom, and the tasks of settingtargets, arranging the timing, making the plans and preparing theeducational programme were supposed to be handled by the teachers.
