Küresel ölçekte en hızlı büyüyen sektörlerden biri olan turizmin emek-yoğun
niteliği, sektörde istihdam edilenleri ön plana çıkarmaktadır. Gelişmekte olan
pek çok ülkede olduğu gibi Türkiye’de de turizmin istihdam yaratmadaki
potansiyeli oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye’de turizm sektöründe
istihdam edilen nüfus ilçe ölçeğindeki güncel veriler üzerinden incelenmiştir.
Çalışmanın temel amacı Türkiye’de turizm sektöründe istihdam edilen
nüfusun mekânsal deseninin ilçe bazlı ortaya konabilmesidir. Bu amaca uygun
olarak Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu’ndan (SGK) 2022 yılına ait ilçe ölçeğindeki
istihdam verileri elde edilmiştir. Verilere, çeşitli mekânsal istatistik teknikleri
uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, Türkiye’de turizm sektöründe istihdam edilen
nüfusun ülke içindeki dağılımında çarpıcı farklılıkların olduğunu
göstermektedir. Özellikle güneybatı kıyılarındaki uluslararası turizm
merkezleri turizm sektöründe istihdam edilen nüfus açısından birçok başlıkta
ön plana çıkmıştır. Türkiye’de turizm sektöründe istihdam edilen nüfusa
yönelik politika ve stratejiler geliştirilerek bütünlükçü bir yönetim anlayışının
geliştirilmesine ihtiyaç vardır.
The labor-intensive nature of tourism, one of the fastest growing sectors on a
global scale, highlights those employed in the sector. As in many developing
countries, the potential of tourism in Türkiye to create jobs is very significant.
In this study, the population employed in the tourism sector in Türkiye is
analyzed at the district scale and based on current data. The main objective of
the study is to reveal the spatial pattern of the population employed in the
tourism sector in Türkiye on a district basis. For this purpose, district-scale
employment data for the year 2022 were obtained from the Social Security
Institution (SSI). Various spatial statistical techniques were applied to the
data. The findings show that there are striking differences in the distribution
of the population employed in the tourism sector in Türkiye. Especially the
international tourism centers on the southwestern coasts stand out in terms of
the population employed in the tourism sector under many headings. There is
a need to develop a holistic management approach by developing policies and
strategies for the population employed in the tourism sector in Türkiye.
