Modelleme, hem bilimsel bilgilerin üretilmesinde hem de bilimin gelişiminde vazgeçilmez bir
unsurdur ve aynı zamanda bilimin öğretilmesinde de sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Modellemenin öğrenme
ortamlarında bir öğretim yöntemi olarak kullanılmasıyla birlikte, “modelleme temelli öğrenme” kavramı
ortaya çıkmıştır. Kendi öğrenme sürecini yönetebilen ve bilgiyi inşa edebilen öğrenciler yetiştirebilmek
için, modelleme temelli öğrenme ortamları büyük önem taşımaktadır. Modelleme etkinliklerine dayalı
öğrenme ortamları, öğrencilerin yaparak yaşayarak öğrenmeleri için önemli fırsatlardır. Bu çalışmanın
amacı; Türkiye adresli dergilerde yayımlanmış modelleme temelli öğrenme konusu ile ilgili makalelerin
eğilimlerini incelemek ve araştırmaların genel bir çerçevesini okuyucuya sunmaktır. Bu amaçla, Google
Akademik ve Dergipark platformlarında gerçekleştirilen tarama sonucu elde edilmiş 2004-2019 yılları
arasındaki 57 makale, içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Makalelerin incelenmesi ve
kodlanması için “Makale İnceleme Formu” kullanılmıştır. Bulgular, frekans ve yüzde değerleri ile birlikte grafik ve tablolar şeklinde sunulmuştur. Yapılan analizler sonucu; konuyla ilgili en fazla yayının 2015 ve
2017 yıllarında yapıldığı, çalışmaların sadece fen ve matematik alanında gerçekleştirildiği, fen ve
matematik alanlarındaki çalışma sayılarının hemen hemen eşit olduğu, araştırmalarda nitel araştırma
yöntemlerinin daha fazla tercih edildiği, veri toplama aracı olarak başarı / kavramsal anlama testinin daha
fazla kullanıldığı, veri analiz yöntemi olarak da betimsel istatistiklerin daha çok tercih edildiği tespit
edilmiştir. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçların, bu alandaki araştırmalara ve gelecekte bu alanda yürütülecek
çalışmalara yön vereceğine inanılmaktadır.
Modeling is an indispensable element both in the production of scientific knowledge and in the
development of science. Moreover, it is also frequently used in the teaching of science. With the use of
modeling as a teaching method in learning environments, the concept of “modeling-based learning” has
emerged. Modeling-based learning environments are of great importance in order to train students who can
manage their own learning process and build knowledge. Learning environments based on modeling
activities are important opportunities for students to learn by doing and experiencing. The aim of this study
is to examine the trends of the articles on modeling-based learning published in Turkish journals and to
present a general framework of the researches. For this purpose, 57 articles obtained as a result of searching
on Google Scholar and Dergipark platforms were analysed using content analysis method. For the review
and coding of the articles, the "Article Review Form" was used. Findings are presented in graphs and tables
with frequency and percentage values. As a result of the analyses carried out; the most articles on the subject
were made in 2015 and 2017, studies were carried out only in the field of science and mathematics, the
number of studies in the fields of science and mathematics was almost equal. In addition, it was determined
that qualitative research methods were preferred more in studies, achievement / conceptual understanding
tests were used more as a data collection tool, and descriptive statistics were more preferred as a data
analysis method. It is believed that the results obtained from the study will guide the researches in this field.
