Background: It is seen that the rates of violence in healthcare settings around the world are increasing in nowadays. Objectives: The research was conducted to determine the violence management proficiency of nursing students in their clinical practice areas and the affecting factors. Methods: The descriptive and cross-sectional research was completed with 410 students (participation rate 91%) studying in the Nursing Department of The Faculty of Health Sciences in the 2022-2023 academic year of a university located in the xxx region. Data were collected using the “Introductory Information Form” and the “Violence Management Proficiency Scale in Practice Areas for Nursing Students”. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation and MannWhitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used to analyze the data. Results: It was determined that the average age of the students was 20.82±1.76 years, 67.1% were female, 35.6% were 3rd grade students and 94.6% were single. The total score average of the “Violence Management proficiency Scale in Practice Areas for Nursing Students” was found to be 100.60±15.99 (above the intermediate level). In the study, it was determined that the difference between gender, class, parents’ education level, income level, longest lived residence and family type and the violence management competency scale total score average in application areas was not statistically significant (p>0.05). When asked what type of violence they were exposed to, 65.8% of the students stated that they were exposed to any type of violence in clinical practice areas, 29.3% of those who committed violence were nurses; It was determined that 46.2% responded with verbal violence. Conclusion: It was determined that more than half of the nursing students were exposed to some form of violence in their clinical practice areas, that approximately one-third of those who perpetrated violence were nursing colleagues, and that the students’ violence management competencies in their practice areas were above average.
