This study was conducted to identify the use of electrical conductivity of milk in oestrus determination. A total of 30 cows between age of 4 and 7 years were used. The relation between the value of electrical conductivity of milk at the moment of insemination and the follicle diameter, blood serum progesterone and estrogen values were studied. The milk samples from all 4 quarters of each animal was tested for determination of electrical conductivity (EC), The follicle diameter was found by using transrectal ultrasonography and the serum estrogen and progesterone values were determined by EIA. No relation was found between EC value of milk and blood serum progesterone, estrogen and follicle diameter, thus it would not be possible to determine the oestrus by measuring EC of milk effectively.
