Özet

Carbon footprint is a calculation tool used to indicate the amount of greenhouse gases

released into the atmosphere directly or indirectly as a result of activities of individuals and

organizations, such as energy consumption and transportation, in terms of carbon dioxide

equivalent.

The carbon emission amounts of the service building of İncesu Municipality, which serves the

İncesu District of Kayseri province, were determined and the carbon footprint was calculated

based on the current number of personnel. The total carbon dioxide emission amount of the

central service building between 2022 and 2023 is 72.2 tons of CO2. It is seen that the carbon

footprint value, which was 0.10 tons of CO2/person/year in 2022, increased to 0.12 tons of

CO2/person/year by 2023. Accordingly, at the end of the 2-year period, the amount of carbon

released into the atmosphere increased by 20% in terms of tons of CO2. İncesu Municipality

aims to keep the amount of carbon it releases into the atmosphere with the projects it will

implement.
