Özet

The earthquake that occurred on February 6, 2023 caused devastating effects in 11 provinces in total. Immediately after the earthquake, urgent needs such as search and rescue efforts and providing nutrition opportunities arose. Nutrition and, accordingly, the production chain, logistics network, workforce establishment, and inter-institutional relations have been negatively affected. On the other hand, when the negativities related to the earthquake are examined, it is seen that the fastest moving sector in the reconstruction of the city is in the field of nutrition. Within the scope of the study, interviews were held with AFAD, Red Crescent, Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, Provincial Directorate of Tourism, TÜİK, Provincial Directorate of Commerce, women's cooperatives operating in the city, local food producers, businesses in the field of gastronomy operating in Hatay province, and statistical information was tried to be obtained. In addition, post-earthquake reports prepared by official institutions, national and international non-governmental organizations were examined. The research is a multi-layered and interdisciplinary study as it focuses on the city’s nutritional culture, food chain and the activities of official institutions and non-governmental organizations after the disaster. Therefore, it also covers fields such as disaster anthropology and civil society anthropology. The research study aims to reveal post-earthquake food chain mobility and inter-institutional relationships. Thus, it aims to contribute to the establishment of possible movement patterns for disasters and similar occasions that will occur in the city or in different places in the future and to suggest solutions for the actors involved in the construction of the city.
