Histopathologically, calvarial lesions are congenital, inflammatory, neoplastic and traumatic origin and these are rarely seen. Thecalvarial lesions most commonly manifest as palpable mass onphysical examination or they are diagnosed incidentally during aradiological test. Defect, lysis and sclerosis in the bony structureare evaluated with radiography and computed tomography (CT)and relationships of the lesions with the soft tissue componentsand surrounding soft tissue are evaluated with CT and magneticresonance imaging (MRI) and especially with MRI. Based on theradiological findings, benign-malignant discrimination of the calvariallesions can be made and it may be possible to estimatetheir histopathological diagnoses.
