The study aimed to determine the effects of ethephon (150 μL/L, 200 μL/L, and 250 μL/L) and 1-naphthalene acetic acid (NAA; 50 μL/L, 100 μL/L, and 150 μL/L) applications at ‘red leaf’ and ‘green leaf’ stages on bisexual flower, fruit yield and quality characteristics of ‘Hicaznar’ cultivar. These results showed that ethephon and NAA applications increased the bisexual flower and fruit set ratios, depending on the used dose. The applications formed dense bisexual flowers in the first four weeks of the flowering period. The highest yield per tree and hectare was obtained from applying 50 μL/L NAA at the ‘green leaf’ stage for two consecutive years. Pomegranates harvested from ethephon and NAA-treated plants exhibited increased fruit size and seed percentage compared to those from control plants. Overall, this study demonstrated the potential of ethephon and NAA treatments to improve fruit yield and quality in pomegranate.
