Dr. Turgut is currently Professor of Internal Medicine at Hatay Mustafa Kemal University. He received his medical degree from İstanbul University and finished his Internal Medicine residency in Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. After his Nephrology fellowship, he studied at the University of Virginia as visiting faculty. He has been working as a Nephrologist in Hatay province since 2011. Dr. Turgut was chosen as ‘doctor of the year’ in Hatay by the Ministry of Health in 2012. As a clinician, he sees patients with all aspects of kidney problems; both in the outpatient and in-patient settings. He is particularly interested in Fabry disease and has been following more than 30 patients with Fabry disease.He has published more than 80 research papers in international medical journals. His main interests are chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis, diabetic kidney disease and hypertension.
