Abstract:

In this study, sunn pest (Eurygaster integriceps (Put.) (Heteroptera: Scutelleridae) adult parasitoids (Diptera: Tachinidae), in Adıyaman, Gaziantep and Hatay provinces, overwintering and wheat crop parasitoids and parasitism rates, adult parasitoids? egg yield, new generation adults? parasites were investigated. Sex ratios, egg laying and adult emergence from pupae at three different temperatures of Phasia subcoleopterata (L.) and Heliozeta helluo (F.) (Diptera: Tachinidae) were studied.According to the findings, parasitism rates in overwintering sites in 2008 were 10.34% and 6.32% in Adıyaman and Gaziantep provinces respectively. Parasitism rates were 3.53% and 10.20% in 2010 accordingly. In 2008, parasitism rates were between 0.47% and 3.54% for Gaziantep, 2.08% and 21.64% for Hatay; in 2009 parasitism rates were between 0.69% and 7.09% for Adıyaman, 6.41% and 17.46% for Gaziantep; and in 2010 parasitism rates were 3.25% for Gaziantep, between 1.86% and 2.88% for Hatay. Heliozeta helluo and P. subcoleopterata were dominant species in 2008 and 2009 in Adıyaman, Hatay and Gaziantep provinces. In 2010, P. subcoleopterata was the dominant species in Gaziantep and Hatay provinces. Parasitized individuals collected from overwintering sites were observed not to lay any eggs whereas individuals descended to cereal growing areas were observed to lay 0-60% less eggs in Gaziantep province. Adult emergence times at three different temperatures of room temperature, 26 ± 1 ve 30 ± 1 °C were16.5 ± 0.22, 13.9 ± 0.30, 11.8 ± 0.24 days for females and 15.7 ± 0.20, 13.3 ± 0.27, 11.1 ± 0.21 days for males of P. subcoleopterata and 12.7 ± 0.25, 8.8 ± 0.10, 7.5 ± 0.35 days for females and 12.0 ± 0.46, 8.5 ± 0.09, 6.9 ± 0.30 days for males of H. helluo respectively.
