Abstract:The study was carried out in 2020-2021 to determine the population density and damage rate of olive moth, Prays oleae Bern (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae), and the contamination rate of the olive psyllid, Euphyllura spp (Hemiptera: Psyllidae) on olive cultivars. In 2020, 3402 olive moth adults were caught by 10 pheromone traps in 10 olive orchards. The highest number of olive moth adults were caught in orchard 7 (Gemlik (516 adults/trap) by the pheromone trap, followed by orchard 3 (Gemlik (410 adults/traps), orchard 5 (Ayvalık (386 adults/traps), orchard 4 (Gemlik) (377 adults/trap), orchard 6 (Gemlik (357 adults/trap), orchard 8 (Gemlik (307 adults/trap), orchard 1 (Gemlik (292 adults/trap), orchard 10 (Gemlik (291 adults/trap), orchard 2 (Ayvalık (207 adults/trap), and orchard 9 (Gemlik (259 adults/trap). In 2021, 3300 olive moth adults were caught by 10 pheromone traps in 10 olive orchards. The highest number of olive moth adults were caught in orchard 3 (Gemlik (379 adults/trap) by the pheromone trap, followed by orchard 7 (Gemlik (375 adults/trap), orchard 5 (Ayvalık (367 adults/traps), orchard 8 (Gemlik) (347 adults/trap), orchard 6 (Gemlik (345 adults/trap), orchard 10 (Gemlik (337 adults/trap), orchard 4 (Gemlik (333 adults/trap), orchard 1 (Gemlik (294 adults/trap), orchard 9 (Gemlik (282 adults/trap), orchard 2 (Ayvalık (241 adults/trap). In every year, 1353 olive trees in 10 olive orchards were checked every week and the infested percentage of olive psyllid was calculated. Significant increases were observed in the infected rate of the pest since the beginning of the sampling in both years. However, on 24 May 2020 and 23 May 2021, significant decreases were observed in the contamination rate of the pest. On April 18, May 15, and 26 June 2020, 10 olive trees were selected from each plot and the percentage of leaves, flowers, and fruits infected with olive moths was calculated. The highest olive moth damage on leaves was observed in Gemlik (orchard 4) with 13, followed by 12 (orchard 5,10), 11 (orchard 6), 10 (orchard 8), 8 (orchard 2), 7 (orchard 1,9), 6 (orchard 7), 5 (orchard 3). The highest olive moth damage on flowers was observed in Gemlik (orchard 6) with 8, followed by 5 (orchard 4,5), 3 (orchard 1,7,9), 2 (orchard 2,8,10), and 1 (orchard 3). The highest olive moth damage on fruits was observed in Gemlik (orchard 8) with 6, followed by 5 (orchard 4), 4 (orchard 3,9), 3 (orchard 1,10), 2 (orchard 2,5,7), and 1 (orchard 6). On April 19, May 17, and 21 June 2021, 10 olive trees were selected in each plot and the percentage of leaves, flowers, and fruits infected with olive moths was calculated. The highest olive moth damage on the leaves was observed in Gemlik (orchard 7) with 6, followed by 5 (orchard 4,9,10), 4 (orchard 5), 3 (orchard 6), 2 (orchard 2,3,8), and 1 (orchard 1). The highest olive moth damage on flowers was observed in Gemlik, Gemlik, and Ayvalık with 5 (orchard 1,4,5), followed by 4 (orchard 2,7), 3 (orchard 8,10), 2 (orchard 3, 9), and 1 (orchard 6). The highest olive moth damage was observed on fruits with 5 Gemlik and Gemlik (orchard 4,7), followed by 4 (orchard 3,9), 3 (orchard 1,10), 2 (orchard 2,5,8), 1 (orchard 6).
