Entomopatojen nematodların Hatay ili taş çekirdekli meyve bahçelerinde zararlı Capnodis spp. mücadelesinde kullanılması üzerine araştırmalar

Abstract:Capnodis spp. are important pests of stone fruit trees. A survey was conducted from stone-fruit orchards to recover entomopathogenic nematodes (EPN) to be used to control these pests in Hatay province. Heterorhabditis spp. were isolated from 9 orchards out of 16. Counts of Capnodis spp. were also carried out in these orchards, in 2010, 417 C. tenebrionis and 118 C. carbonaria adults; and in 2011 125 C. tenebrionis and 8 C. carbonaria adults were sampled.In laboratory experiment I, 5 larvae of C. tenebrionis were inoculated in pots of GF 677 peach seedlings, and treatments were EPN, EPN +Chitosan and Chitosan. There were 10 seedlings per treatment and control as well with 3 replications. Unfortunately, only one insect larva was established in the roots of the seedlings. In the first part of laboratory experiment II, apricot seedlings were inoculated with 6 larva of C. tenebrionis and again only 3 seedlings were infected out of 15. In the second part, inoculation was done with 9 insect larvae. Ten out of 12 seedlings treated with EPN and 3 control seedlings were each yielded with one insect larva. But there was not any sign of EPN infection on the insect larvae although EPN were recovered from 9 of the pots? soils with trapping method. In field experiment, there were two EPN doses 100000 IJ/seedling and 200000 IJ/seedling with 5 seedlings per dose and untreated control. Although there were 2 dead insect larvae with pink coloration in the treated seedlings, 3 of the control seedlings did not have any insect infestation. Two of the soil samples from the treated seedlings roots were not yielded EPN.
